Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Tier Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in Oracle environments, who is skilled in Shell Scripting, PL/SQL, and middleware technologies such as WebLogic, Oracle Identity Manager (OID), Oracle Access Manager (OAM), and Oracle HTTP Server (OHS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, be comfortable managing both databases and applications, and be able to optimize systems for performance and security. This role is primarily remote; however, the candidate must reside within driving distance of Yorktown, VA, for occasional on-site support.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, be comfortable managing both databases and applications, and be able to optimize systems for performance and security. This role is primarily remote; however, the candidate must reside within driving distance of Yorktown, VA, for occasional on-site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Management: Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Application Middleware: Configure, manage, and support middleware environments, including WebLogic, OID, OAM, and OHS.
- Shell Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain Shell scripts to automate administrative tasks, improve system efficiency, and support database processes.
- PL/SQL Development: Write and optimize PL/SQL scripts for database management, reporting, and automation.
- System Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Conduct regular monitoring, diagnostics, and tuning of Oracle environments to ensure optimal performance.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Security and Compliance: Enforce database security protocols and ensure compliance with DoD and Innovatus Technology Consulting standards.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide support for troubleshooting database and middleware-related issues, working closely with application developers and other IT teams.
- Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance (required).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in Oracle database administration, with additional expertise in PL/SQL and Shell Scripting.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Oracle Database management (installations, configurations, patching, upgrades)
- Experience with PL/SQL for database management and automation
- Strong Shell Scripting skills for automation and process optimization
- Hands-on experience with WebLogic, Oracle Identity Manager (OID), Oracle Access Manager (OAM), and Oracle HTTP Server (OHS)
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex database and application issues and recommend solutions.
- Documentation: Proficient in creating documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in Database Administration or related certifications.
- Advanced Knowledge: Familiarity with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard.
- Experience in Defense Industry: Prior experience working on DoD or other government projects.
