We are seeking a skilled Oracle PL/SQL Developer with an active DoD Secret Clearance to join our team in a remote capacity.

Position Overview

As an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, you will play an integral role in the design, development, and optimization of database systems to support our federal clients. You will work on creating efficient, secure, and scalable PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database functions, as well as enhancing existing scripts and functionality. The role requires a background in PL/SQL development within Oracle Database environments and experience with Unix shell scripting. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with reading Java code and have experience in data mapping.

Key Responsibilities

• PL/SQL Development: Write and maintain PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions to support data processing and reporting needs.
• Database Management: Develop and execute SQL scripts in Oracle Database, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Code Testing and Optimization: Add, modify, and test PL/SQL code to ensure optimal performance and scalability within Oracle DB environments.
• Unix Shell Scripting: Write and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate database tasks, data processing, and other operational processes.
• Collaboration and Code Review: Work closely with cross-functional teams to review code, address bugs, and implement database enhancements.
• Documentation: Develop clear, concise documentation for database scripts, stored procedures, and other code assets.
• Additional Skills (Preferred): Read and interpret Java code as needed for database interactions, and perform data mapping tasks to ensure accuracy in data migration or transformation processes.

Target Experience

• PL/SQL Expertise: Multiple years of experience writing, modifying, and testing PL/SQL scripts in an Oracle Database environment.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL skills within Oracle DB, with experience in complex query design, data extraction, and optimization.
• Stored Procedures and Functions: Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining stored procedures and functions for database operations.
• Unix Shell Scripting: Experience writing Unix shell scripts to support database and data management tasks.
• Nice to Have Skills:
  • Java Knowledge: Ability to read and understand Java code as it pertains to database functionality and integration.
  • Data Mapping: Experience with data mapping for migration or data transformation tasks is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance (required).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document and explain database functionality to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analytical Skills: High attention to detail, with strong problem-solving skills for optimizing database scripts and ensuring data accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications are a plus.
• Government Contracting Experience: Experience working in a government or defense environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Compliance Standards: Understanding of security compliance standards, such as NIST or DoD security protocols.
