We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and ensure compliance with DoD regulations and federal standards.
 
Job Summary:
The Accountant will record all financial transactions, maintain accurate records inaccordence  with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements, and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) standards. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with government contracting experience and the ability to thrive in a fast pace work environment in our San Diego office.
 
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Maintain  accurate recording of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll records.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timely transactions. Monitor aging reports and manage vendor relationships.
Payroll Processing: Administer payroll, including timekeeping. Coordinate with HR for benefits accounting.
Cost Accounting: Track and allocate direct and indirect costs for government contracts, ensuring accurate cost reporting and contract compliance.
Software Proficiency: Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) to manage financial data and generate reports, ensuring data integrity and system security.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience, with at least 2 years supporting a DoD or government contractor.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, DCAA compliance, FAR.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Experience with government contract billing (Cost-Plus, Time & Materials, Fixed-Price contracts).
Familiarity with payroll.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams, vendors.
